About a year ago I upgraded not only my PC but also everything else, especially the holy trinity of keyboard, mouse, and headphones.
Now, the Razer Cobra Pro arrived for review, giving me the chance to see how it feels to use a new mouse after a year of using the same one.
Compact and Accurate
When opening the box, you will find alongside the mouse:
- Receiver for wireless use
- Charging cable
- Manual
The mouse itself feels very small at first glance, and in the first minutes of use, I realized it is significantly smaller than my current mouse.
This compact mouse, combined with its minimal weight of 77 grams, immediately felt much lighter and more comfortable to use.
Its size allows for more movement space on my crowded desk, and the weight makes it feel much more comfortable to operate.
Returning to my previous mouse felt like lifting a weight that required real effort to move.
However, I can see how the size might be problematic for people with slightly larger hands, as it could “disappear” in a large palm.
The quality of the mouse is impressive, with a durable and strong body.
Its design leans toward simplicity with an all-black aesthetic, except for the RGB-lit areas.
I always prefer mice designed with a simple look, and the Razer Cobra Pro meets that requirement. Regarding RGB, the mouse has 11 lit zones, mostly located underneath it, which initially seemed strange but later appeared interesting, as it creates a halo effect underneath, giving it a very cool appearance.
Performance
Using it about 10-12 hours a day, including work, gaming, and writing this review, I found myself charging the mouse once every five days.
This is far from the 100 hours claimed by Razer (and even further from the 170 hours promised if using Bluetooth), but 60 hours without charging is still impressive.
This ties back to RGB, as the lights significantly drain the battery.
When I turned off the lighting completely, I nearly doubled the battery life, closer to what the company advertises.
If you want to use the mouse for a longer time without charging, rather than focusing on the light show, keep this in mind.
In terms of use, the experience is smooth and enjoyable.
The low weight allowed me to move the mouse quickly and accurately in games like Marvel Rivals or Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and the sensor worked without any issues on all surfaces I tested, whether glass, wood, or marble.
Bottom Line
The Razer Cobra Pro delivers in key areas like speed and accuracy, with a compact size that makes it light and fun to use.
People with slightly larger hands may struggle a bit, and the battery life is not exactly as advertised, but for a mouse priced at around 200 USD, it is a welcome addition that upgrades your gaming experience.
